Ronan is a Computer Vision engineer and founded Fixational after completing his PhD in automotive vision system design. His previous work includes building software systems to automatically detect and track pedestrians, road vehicles and eye movements. He graduated first in his B.E. class in 2006 and completed an internship in chip design in Intel. Ronan is responsible for business development, sales, marketing and technical architecture for Fixational.
Received a BE in Electronic Engineering in 2006 from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Completed a Ph.D. degree in Computer vision in NUI Galway in 2012, funded by Valeo Vision Systems (then Connaught Electronics). Joined Fixational as CTO in 2011. Specialities include image and video processing, image stabilisation, camera calibration and image segmentation with particular emphasis on mobile and automotive vision-based systems. Highly skilled in practical electronic systems, circuit design and troubleshooting.
